Buying a mattress set can be a little overwhelming. With so many models and styles, how do you decide which one is right for you? It can get complicated and confusing but I will try to simplify it. 1. THE SPRING UNIT. This is the core and support of your mattress. A basic spring unit with a coil count of 398 to 416* is adequate for a childs bed or guest room. A 448 coil count is plenty supportive for most adults, and our 850 coil unit is among the best you can buy. Also check to see if the unit has edge supports. Most of our 448 units have a basic edge support. All of our 850 units have a heavy duty edge support. 2. WHAT IS IT FILLED OR 'STUFFED' WITH. The material used to stuff the mattress and how much of that material is used will affect the price and quality. 3. IS IT ONE SIDED (NO FLIP) OR TWO SIDED. A high percentage of mattresses now are one sided. This is simply an effort to keep the price down by not having to stuff and quilt one side of the mattress. The traditional two sided mattress lasts much longer because you can flip and use both sides. They are a bit more expensive because there is more material involved to make it. Of course decision #4 is COMFORT ! Choose a mattress that is the right firmness (or softness) for you and enjoy!
